This is a blog about me, a woman over 50 who was bit by the running bug later in life.

Being an older runner has it’s own unique challenges.  I have been “discounted” by younger runners, I have been encouraged by strong women my own age and I have faced a body that can’t rebound like a 20 year old.

But in all of this, I have found peace in running.  Worries and anxieties seem to “run” themselves out.  Most of all, I feel good after I have put in an hour or two in my favorite running shoes.

I chose the “Old Woman Running” title when a friend jokingly told me that nothing was uglier than an old woman running.
